Children and Families are welcome at Holy Trinity Williamstown, and the parish has an active program for involving and supporting children and their families in our church community.
We encourage the participation of all family members from babies and their grandparents to all the ages and stages in between.
We hold regular informal, relaxed get-togethers for families and children throughout the year. These gatherings aim to be inclusive and allow people to develop friendships and a sense of community. These are advertised in our parish bulletin, and on this website. If you would like to find out more information – then please contact us.
There are two main worship services held each Sunday and children are welcome at all of them although some are more “child friendly” than others.
Kids church is also available for children.
The 10.00am service is a traditional choral Eucharist, led by the choir. Children are welcome at this service, and a brief activity will usually be organized that will occupy them during the sermon. At the door you will find colouring-in sheets and pencils, which you are welcome to pick up and use. Please ask one of the sidespeople who are giving out the books if you have difficulty finding them.
Kids Church is held at 10.00am for school aged children located in the office beside the church. This is a learning and entertaining program enabling children to explore christianity at a pace and in a setting which they are comfortable. Kids church joins the traditional service for the Eucharist.
The 8.00 am Eucharist is simple and traditional without hymns or music. The style is more reflective and quiet.
We like children and their families to feel comfortable, and there is no need to feel embarrassed in any of the services if your child cries, laughs, talks or sings - as children do!
Holy Communion is one of the sacraments of the Christian Church - a practice that remembers a special meal that Jesus shared with his friends and followers. If you wish your child to receive Holy Communion, please talk to the Vicar.
We offer simple preparation for children who wish to receive Holy Communion. Usually this happens when children are about seven years old, but it can be earlier. Small children are welcome at the altar to receive a blessing.
Confirmation is available for teenagers and adults who want to publicly 'confirm' their faith.
