The Revd Lynda McMinn: Vicar

Lynda was inducted as Vicar of Holy Trinity on 16th December, 2005. Prior to this, she was the Vicar of an Anglican Parish in Cook, ACT, in Canberra-Goulburn Diocese.

Lynda studied theology at St Mark’s Theological Centre in Canberra, and was ordained as Deacon at the cathedral in Goulburn in 1999, and as priest in 2000, serving two years as the Assistant Priest at St Paul’s Manuka, Canberra’s city church.

Lynda married Yaroslav Mamchak in 2004. Yaroslav is a local solicitor, in private practise based in the Hobson’s Bay area. Lynda has five adult children, Cathy, Rachel, Joanna, Amy and Nick, who no longer live at home, and two young grandchildren, who are very recent additions to the family. Yaroslav has two adult children, Alusha and Marcus. The Vicarage is home to Lynda and Yaroslav and three family pets, Bella, the Golden Retriever and two cats Chifley and Oscar. Lynda’s hobbies are reading books (a passion) and walking around the headland and the bay.

Lay Minister for Families: Christine Croft

Christine, her husband and their young family, have been parishioners of Holy Trinity Williamstown for the last two years. They found in Holy Trinity a warm and welcoming parish upon their return from Sydney and decided to stay. Recently Christine has been appointed as Lay Minister for Families in the parish.

Christine is a teacher by training, and holds postgraduate qualifications in student welfare. Her professional experience and insights gained from raising her own family lead her to increasingly understand the need for strong social and support networks for families and young people. She organizes family gatherings, works with the Youth group and co-ordinates children's activities for the Sunday services.

Christine's hobbies are scrapbooking, family history and being a life-long member of the Girl Guides.

Parish Secretary: Judy Whelan.

Following her nursing training at the Alfred Hospital Judy went to the U.K. and spent 5 years there, having a great time as so many Aussie girls did, publicizing Australian foods and wines for the Trade Publicity Department of Australia House in the Strand. On her return to Melbourne she married and lived out of town on a country property, had two children and enjoyed involvement with school, Pony Club, competition tennis at the local club, and supplying family and friends with organically grown vegetables.

Currently she lives in Albert Park and enjoys being Holy Trinity’s Parish Secretary and singing in the church choir, as well as classical music, philosophy, gardening, and overseas travel to Europe.
